Just like that, our holiday season is behind us and a new year begins. Not just any year, it is the beginning of the year 2020 ! In this new year of even numbers, I'd like to begin with a quick and thoughtful reflection of the past year and then a forward motion look of determination for this fresh new one. Reflecting on the past year, as with anyone, there are highs and lows. We have had great times to treasure and times of grief and sorrow. There were times to be proud of and times that in hindsight, I wish that for myself I had handled a situation or two differently. I ended up with bumps and bruises both physically and emotionally. A Thankful Heart
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just one week away. Though, I probably say that every year. As Thanksgiving approaches, I am trying to savor every moment. As I tackle the prep work that goes into making the season festive, I try to reflect on all the amazing blessings that we have to be thankful for.Not everyone feels blessed during this Holiday season. There are those that are struggling and my heart goes out to them. We have friends that have experienced great loss of loved ones this year and others that are in great health battles. Some may feel a pressure to be happy when they feel anything but happy right now. My prayer is for a sense of peace in the midst of the storms life brings. Summer is Here
We waited and we even whined for our summer season to begin. I don't know about you, but for me it seems that each summer passes quicker than the last. We need to savor each day. I'm so thankful to have time to listen to each summer morning awaken. The birds are so happy and the chipmunks and bunnies are driving my two fur boys absolutely crazy.For our family we have had a busy start to summer. We have celebrated the family wedding, the high school graduation of our youngest and are still enjoying the west coast family here with us for couple of weeks. The weather has been perfect to enjoy pool time with the grand-kids and get eaten by mosquitoes while Matthew entertained the grands, with weak fireworks.We still have a full plate for the rest of the summer.
